COURSE OVERVIEW

The HLTAID012 course equips educators and child care professionals with essential first aid skills for infants, children, and adults, including responses to asthma and anaphylaxis emergencies. It aligns with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines and is suitable for workers in education and care settings.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Age: Minimum 18 years
  • Basic English literacy and math skills
  • Ability to perform CPR on a manikin for 2 minutes

 

Course Structure:

  • Duration: Approximately two days (one day of online self-paced learning and one full day of in-person training)
  • Delivery Mode: Blended format with hands-on training, practice sessions, and online learning materials
  • Assessment: Written, practical, and scenario-based assessments

 

Certification: Upon successful completion, participants receive four nationally recognized qualifications:

  • HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid
  • HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting

 

Equipment Requirements: All necessary first aid equipment will be provided during training. For online learning, participants need:

  • A laptop with internet access
  • Microsoft Office or similar software
  • A personal email address
  • A working mobile phone

 

Credit Transfer: Participants may be eligible for credit transfer if they have completed parts of the course previously.

Recognition: The HLTAID012 course is nationally recognized across Australia and meets the standards set by the National Register of Vocational Education and Training. It includes additional training on asthma and anaphylaxis, fulfilling legal requirements for educators in schools and care services.
